55-limited!!

'i am sorry' his voice reflected guilt...

three years of an abusive nonconsumated marriage and she had tolerated it all without a word...just for the sake of society...

but today it all fell in place when she caught him redhanded in bed...with gary...his business partner...

this time there was no turning back!!

@ ankur
yes ankur...sad but true...we all live in a society conscious world... and some people prefer succumbing to it even if it means pain and regret thruout their life...
i hope noone would make such sacrifices only for the sake of society...but i know itll go on...ours isnt an utopian world...:(

@ cindrella
yesss i loved that part in which konkona walks out and when he asks her whats the big deal says very matter-of-fact "ur gay" infront of the whole staff :D
wish all women would be as bold as her...

i have nothing against 'gay' ppl...just despise the closeted ones who knowingly drag some innocent person in with them...that too again for the sake of the damn society!!

@ solitaire
well somewhere...someone...it could be...
infact could be even worse...
sometimes truth is stranger than fiction!:)

@ veens
thanks veens..i took it up as a challenge because u know how painfully long my posts usually are...heehee

i came across this concept in a few blogs...and really found it interesting...
chk out http://chandni.wordpress.com

have fun!!

@ illusion
eh? really??
strangely many felt that way...
i take that as a compliment ..thankyou :D

@ vandita
you too??...thanks! :)

@ princess

It reminds me of one of my stories on Calm Frenzies.

Have you read it?

Anonymous said...

u rock!
its perfect!!!

Pri said...

@ solitaire
really?? dont remember reading it...
which one are u talking about? do send me the link :)

it is quite a spoken about topic...but i guess this is happening a lot more outside the bounds of fiction than it is, within!
i wish it was as easy for the people going thru it as it is writing about it though...

@ adi
thanks adi...will probably come up with more of these in the future...

Ankur said...

then there isnt any, but we can try to think of it atleast...
:(

i feel bad, women still die coz of dowry (another news in paper), god has given us 2 hands to work and then to eat!!!
Y do ppl wanna get rich this way? What they have shld be enough i guess, otherwise having everything isnt enugh!!!

God bless these souls, i pray!!!

hey..
I was looking through your previous post as I though it is continuation from other or so.
nice one. you manage to tell more on lesser words.

Pri said...

@ ankur
nice thoughts...wish everyone thought the same...

@ ekta
yes ekta..unfortunately it is on the increase in todays world...
people have spun a web around themselves due to fear of society not accepting them as they are (wch is also true in way) and sometimes innocent unsuspecting victims get caught in it too...
some manage to break loose...some give in to faith getting entangled forever...

@ solitaire
u have soo many blogs that i somehow missed this one :(
how do u manage girl..i would myself get confused updating all of them :p
but must say, wonderful story...uve captured the emotions beautifully...the trauma, the insecurity and the misfortune of not being accepted again...
it made me HATE shashank as much as the first guy though...

@ endevourme
hmmm...why do i have the feeling that u are one of those 'OMG!!..she talks so much kinda ppl' :-/

@ blogboy
well im glad people understand me just as much even with words so few :)

i first wondered what this 55 means.. but when i got it i am amazed how you put everything just in 55 words.
I really thought it is a true story when i found out it is a fiction

Pri said...

@ lena
thanks dear...
all along, i wished i could write more though :(

Anonymous said...

lady, you are amazing!!! :)

Cosmic Joy said...

I wonder .. you used the word "abusive" to desribe their relationship .. the story does not desribe that aspect.

Pri said...

@ mysteryguy
thanks for visiting...

@ cosmicjoy
heyy cosmic, i couldent give any details because the story demanded to be written in just 55 words...read the first comment in the comment section :)
by the word, i meant abusive asin physical and mental harassment, despite of which she stuck by him...only because she feared the society...
coul;dent do any more justice to the story when 55 words were all i had :(

Mez said...

O i thought itz true

@ mez
its a piece of fiction on my blog...
but it might be bitter reality for someone...somewhere...
and who knows? it might be worse than we actually can ever imagine...
sometimes truth is weirder than fiction!

@ abhishek khanna
hmmm ki hoya??...no reakson? :-/
