a tiny truth which goes ignored...

you ask me how i cannot hate you despite feeling hurt all the time,
and i wonder if its because of the bit of myself i see in you...

he asks me how i cannot love him despite him caring so much,
and i wonder if its because of the bit of myself i see in him...

every single person in our life, in bits and fragments, is a reflection of our own self...of what we like in ourselves and of what we dont..of what we accept in ourselves and of what we cant...
and that is a truth which if not reasoned with, can save us a whole lot of anger and resentment for people we tend to get biased against.

love and peace to all!

actually, even I would hold this thoery to be true. We always seek something familiar in everybody, maybe a part of us, or maybe a part of someone we already know and admire.

We compare faces, we compare natures, we compare everything and are a little biased.

Interesting thought

u hit the nail right in place....so true....we can't hate someone we once love as we see something of us left there....and we can't love someone who loves us more as we see that one of us in it which we were once....irony! but reasoning kills it but we can't help too sometimes!

Beautiful wordings!

@ suree
aint there??
im so glad u could see it too :)

@ anonymous someone
yes, but what we often tend to forget is that we often see the part of us we hate in those we despise...and that is the reason of us not liking them..
had we to think like tht everytime we dislike someone, we wouldnt hate them as much anymore :)

@ tweety
welcome to my space..
well i dont know how universal this is..heck, i dont even know if its true with me all the time...
but thinking tht way helps reduce the hatred we manage to develop for some people-its just a perspective! :)

100% right!

Here goes a quote from Hermen Hesse “If you hate a person, you hate something in him that is part of yourself. What isn't part of ourselves doesn't disturb us”
